Capello drops Super great Theo Walcot
Fabio Capello makes surprise decision to leave Arsenal winger out of trip to South Africa
While many of us were expecting Shaun Wright-Phillips or Adam Johnson to be axed from the England squad on Tuesday afternoon, very few of us expected to see Theo Walcott left out of the 23-man party that will be going to South Africa.
The Arsenal winger was controversially included in Sven-Goran Eriksson's 23-man squad that travelled to Germany for the 2006 World Cup, so it's ironic that Walcott has been omitted against all the odds four years down the line.
It means that Aaron Lennon is likely to start England's first group match against USA on 12th June, although perhaps we should expect the unexpected with Fabio Capello.
England are 7/1 (Paddy Power) to win the 2010 World Cup.
but he is young they say, and has more time for three or so world cups....
