Two goals from the man of the match- Carlos Tevez- at minutes 26' and 52' plus another from Gonzalo Higuain at 33' made sure that Argentina took the lead upto the 70' minute when Javier Hernandez-moving into Old Trafford-pulled one back to make it 3-1. Although Mexico proved to be a better and technically strong team, their lucky stars were dimmed by Diego's paper work. They however follow suits in the steps of Ivory Coast and South Korea, by bowing out of 2010 with their heads high. This means that, Argentina meets Germany in the quarter finals.
