Reid saves New Zealand as they draw with Slovakia at stoppage time
The game started at a rather low key with both teams seeming comfortable and reluctant to attack. But as the game went on and slovakia seemed to have their guns turned on with numerous attacks on the whites, but their goalkeeper Mark Paston did well to keep the ball from kissing the net upto the halftime mark. Only after five minutes after the two teams had returned from the break, Slovakia's Robert Vittek (Ankaragucu) headed in to put coach Vladimir Weiss's boys ahead at the 50' minute. New Zealand seemed to have lost hope and ideas up to that point. Vittek came close again @ the 70+ minute, but finishing this time was poor, he later have way to Miroslav Stoch (Chelsea) @ 83'. All whites' Tony Lochhead(Wellington Phoenix), did some notable work for his team, but none bore fruits. It was not until the final minute of added time that a defender Winston Reid(FC Midtjylland) scored the equalizer for New Newzealand. Final score 1-1!
